What should the future of Rexburg Recreation look like?

At the City of Rexburg, we are always looking to best serve our citizens. We're looking for help with how to grow and expand our Recreation Department offerings. What programs not currently offered by the City of Rexburg would you like us to provide? Now is your chance to help us design programs that best fit you and your needs.

At this stage, we are just looking to gauge interest in expanding our programs. No idea is too big or too small.

unknown author2 years ago I agree with another's idea that we need outdoor grass volleyball. It could be a tournament or two or a league. It would be great to have six divisions: a competitive league with men's, coed and women's divisions and a recreation league with men's, coed and women's divisions. If that's too much, you could combine the men's and coed divisions. There could also be a youth division. Anyway, Porter Park, Smith Park or even the fields near Rexburg Rapids would all work as areas for doubles grass volleyball.

unknown author3 years ago We need a recreation center with an 8 lane Indoor pool and seating to host meets. It could have all sorts of classes for all ages. This is super important during the winter months when it’s to cold outside. It should have a walking and running track, basketball gym to have club basketball teams and volleyball teams, etc. an exercise gym with weights and cardio machines. Also, build it bigger than what we think we need so there is room for growth.

unknown author3 years ago It's time to get up, get out, and move. Track your miles of walking and get prizes for each tier of success you reach. Bonus: post a pic (or show a pic) of trash (a bag full) you collected on your walk and get a bonus prize or added miles to your log book.Prizes: swag from city or local businesses, local business coupons, etc.(much like the library reading program but for people that like to walk) (I am not a runner so the Rexburg Races are not for me, but we try to get out and walk as a family)
