Welcome! The City of Rexburg, Idaho is working to update its Comprehensive Plan (the Plan). This website will serve as a home base for participation, important information, and project updates. Our tools and pages will be updated as we move through this process, so check in often, register with your email for updates, and share this site with your neighbors!
What’s the Comprehensive Plan Update?
The Comprehensive Plan (the Plan) is a community-informed policy document that considers many facets of the community, including but not limited to: how to respond to growth; ensure orderly land use and development patterns; where major infrastructure and facilities should be anticipated; resource allocation; economic development; park and open space planning; and regional coordination. The updated Plan will ensure that policies and programs accommodate the challenges and opportunities associated with growth; and support the City in to being “America’s Family Community.”
This planning process is anticipated to last 12 months. The timeline below indicates some of the milestones and outreach events anticipated for each phase:

Final Draft of The Plan
The Comprehensive Plan (the Plan) is a community-developed document that offers guidance for the City’s decision-makers to best accommodate the challenges and opportunities associated with growth.
The Final Draft of Plan Rexburg will be reviewed at the Planning and Zoning Public Hearing on THURSDAY AUGUST 17TH, 2023 at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers.
- The public is invited to review The Plan (see the document attached below) and attend the meeting to comment on the Plan.
- You can attend the hearing virtually and submit comments. Click the button below to access the meeting.
Plan Rexburg | The Comprehensive Plan
As mandated by Idaho Statute 67-6508, the Plan addresses many elements of the community and considers past, present, and future trends to advance the quality of life for the Rexburg community. The Planning Area considered in this Plan includes the City and the City’s Impact Area.
Plan Rexburg considers all planning components as required by Idaho Statute 67-6508.

In the final draft of the Comprehensive Plan, you can review the City's goals for growth in the coming decade. We encourage all residents to stay educated and informed. Reviewing this Plan is a great step to help you understand the direction of the future of Rexburg!
