Some years ago, the Rexburg Police Department would visit neighborhoods around town with food and other members of the City staff to connect residents over a good meal.
If the City were to reimplement these community get togethers, we could provide the food or possibly bring a food truck with us to serve the attendees. Would you be interested in ice cream socials, taco bars, potlucks? What would entice you to come to this type of event? Who or what would you want to see there? When would be a good time of year?
Do you think your neighborhood would want to participate? Would your neighborhood consider bringing the City to it's existing block party event?

Our neighborhood participated in this a few times, and it was so well received and attended. I think the food truck idea is genius!

I love this idea. I think spring, early summer, or fall would be a good time to do it. I think doing this would allow everyone to feel more connected to the City and we can talk about things with y’all in a more informal situation. That will help the lack of communication we feel from both sides. Food brings everyone together! I know our neighborhood would love to do this. We already talk about the city when we get together so having the opportunity to chat with y’all would be awesome.

I think this is a great idea. Having our local fire, police, and city officials/workers is a great way to build community and for city leaders to hear about issues that are concerning the citizens. Food trucks and potlucks are a great idea. Our neighborhood usually has one every summer.

Our neighborhood used to do this every summer, back when the city sponsored it. We were given some money towards food and potlucked the rest. A food truck would be awesome!! They were a great way to build community.

I like this idea a lot. I have always thought our subdivision should do a block party. I think offing nothing like icecream is good and make something for the kids like face painting. I also think involving the community to participate in volunteering and a potluck is a good idea.
