Yes, an integrated app is being developed in addition to the website! We are very excited to bring that feature to the community! The app, while still being worked on, is planned to feature a community calendar, push notifications, and access to forms and most-accessed information across the website.
The app developer is not connected to emergency response systems (our 911 communications team is through Madison County). While we may look at things like weather and disaster alerts, it won't have the ability to accept emergency information/texts from citizens. Something like that would need to come from the dispatch office.

Two things:
- City events need to be front and center on the website.
- We have so many businesses that are struggling. They should also be able to put their events on the website.
If I remember correctly, Scott Johson said a phone app would be associated with the website. This is a great way to promote the two above comments.
Another idea. The city does not have business licenses, but a company can register its business with the city. What if you encouraged companies to register their business, and part of the advantage of doing so is they can promote their events on the city site, and those events get pushed to the individuals that have the app?
I would also suggest you do some rewards or contests to get the citizens of Rexburg to put the app on their phones.
Lastly, I hope you are seeing the value of the phone app. This can also be an amazing emergency response platform. This is another reason to encourage and maybe incentivize Rexburg residents to install the app.
